About Me

For the past twenty-seven years I've worn many hats as a faculty member at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, Missouri.

I'm obsessed with driving home the point that a camera can take pictures (as can a two year old), but as my photography student you will be creating images.  Both eyes open, please.

My Model UN students are driven to make an impact on the world through their resolution writing and the initiatives they create post-conference that support the Global Goals.

As the school photographer, I am ever in search of the decisive moment that defines the heartbeat of the school.  Have you ever seen me without a camera in hand?

As an advisor, I want my students to measure their success by their own progress, not by comparing themselves with their classmates.   A healthy combination of cooperation and competition (coopertition) can lead to brilliant ideas that empower youth.

I am on sabbatical during the 2019-2020 academic year.  My goal is to travel the world in search of student leaders and school programs that support the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).   If you are reading this and are such a person or know someone or a group of people who fit this model, please reach out.

I'd also love to see you to share a meal and catch up, no matter what continent you are on.  Check out my calendar and hopefully our paths will cross.
